In Microsoft 365, licenses from licensing plans (also called SKUs or Microsoft 365 plans) give users access to the Microsoft 365 services that are defined for those plans. However, a user might not have access to all the services that are available in a license that's currently assigned to them. You can use PowerShell for Microsoft 365 to view the status of services on user accounts.

Services These are also known as service plans. Services are the Microsoft 365 products, features, and capabilities that are available in each licensing plan, for example, Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise (previously named Office 365 ProPlus). Users can have multiple licenses assigned to them from different licensing plans that grant access to different services.

How Get A List Of The Available Licenses In Your Office 365 Tenant

You can use PowerShell for Microsoft 365 to view details about the available licensing plans, licenses, and services in your Microsoft 365 organization. For more information about the products, features, and services that are available in different Office 365 subscriptions, see Office 365 Plan Options.

A PowerShell script is available that automates the procedures described in this topic. Specifically, the script lets you view and disable services in your Microsoft 365 organization, including Sway. For more information, see Disable access to Sway with PowerShell.

AccountSkuId: Show the available licensing plans for your organization by using the syntax :. is the value that you provided when you enrolled in Microsoft 365, and is unique for your organization. The value is the same for everyone. For example, in the value litwareinc:ENTERPRISEPACK, the company name is litwareinc, and the licensing plan name ENTERPRISEPACK, which is the system name for Office 365 Enterprise E3.

Enterprise organizations that are looking to Microsoft to assist them in their cloud journey, such as risk assessors, compliance officers, internal auditors, privacy officers, regulatory Affairs/Legal, CISOs will benefit from this service. The following are example scenarios of available benefits that customers can receive:

Microsoft Defender for Identity features are enabled at the tenant level for all users within the tenant. For information on configuring Microsoft Defender for Identity, see Create your Microsoft Defender for Identity instance.

Priva solutions are built into the Microsoft Purview compliance portal and are enabled at the tenant level for all users within the tenant. We recommend that licenses be acquired for any user that you intend to benefit from and protect with the service.

Compliance Manager is available to organizations with Office 365 and Microsoft 365 licenses, and to US Government Community Cloud (GCC), GCC High, and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Assessment availability and management capabilities depend on your licensing agreement.

Currently, the Customer Lockbox service can't be limited to specific users. Although the tenant services are not currently capable of limiting benefits to specific users, efforts should be taken to limit the service benefits to licensed users. This will help avoid potential service disruption once targeting capabilities are available.

Data classification analytic capabilities are available within Microsoft Purview compliance portal. Overview shows the locations of digital content and most common sensitive information types and labels present. Content Explorer provides visibility into amount and types of sensitive data and allows users to filter by label or sensitivity type to get a detailed view of locations where the sensitive data is stored. Activity Explorer show activities related to sensitive data and labels, such as label downgrades or external sharing that could expose your content to risk.

Double Key Encryption (formerly named Double Key Encryption for Microsoft 365) lets you protect your highly sensitive data to meet specialized requirements and maintain full control of your encryption key. Double Key Encryption uses two keys to protect your data, with one key in your control and the second key stored securely by Microsoft Azure. To view the data, you must have access to both keys. Since Microsoft can access only one key, your key and also your data are unavailable to Microsoft, ensuring that you have full control over the privacy and security of your data.

If you do not wish to continue using the software after the trial version has expired, remember to uninstall the program and deregister your tenant, or those emails that would otherwise pass through the CodeTwo Email Azure Service will be blocked.

Additional notes for server-side signatures: Licenses are consumed by shared mailboxes as well, because Microsoft 365 (Office 365) treats shared mailboxes as users. In the server-side mode, it does not matter if an email is actually stamped with a signature (this depends on your signature rule conditions defined in the Senders step), what matters is the fact that an email passes through the CodeTwo Email Azure Service (there are 2 exceptions: emails sent from mail-enabled public folders, and emails sent as groups, distribution lists and contacts do not consume licenses because they are not supported by the signature-adding mechanism). To learn how to manage the scope of licensed users in the server-side mode, see this Frequently Asked Question.

Autoresponder licenses are consumed based on autoresponder rule settings. If you create an autoresponder rule for X users (this includes user/shared/room/equipment mailboxes defined in the Reply from step of the rule) in your organization, X licenses will be instantly consumed when you save the rule. If you select the Group members (inside organization) option and select a group / distribution list with Y members, Y licenses will be consumed when you save the rule (the group / distribution list itself will not consume a license).

The product license is sold as a subscription, which can be purchased in CodeTwo Admin Panel. Any user with the owner or admin access to your organization's Admin Panel account can purchase the subscription (learn more about the admin roles in CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365). In order to pay for the subscription, you need to add a payment method on the Payment methods tab. After that, access the Manage tenant page - you can do it from the Dashboard or the Tenants tab by clicking the Manage tenant () button next to the name of your tenant. On the Subscription page (Fig. 2.), click Buy subscription. A wizard will guide you through the process of ordering a subscription. If you have not defined a payment method and have not filled out required contact info yet, you will be asked to do so.

The number of licenses in use is shown in the Licensing section. To check the number of used signature licenses, go to the Signature licenses tab. Next, click Show used licenses (see Fig. 2. to display a list of all the email addresses to which a license has been assigned.

Once a license is assigned to a specific user / shared mailbox, it will not be automatically reassigned to another one even if you change the scope of senders, uninstall the Outlook add-in from some users/machines or delete users from your Microsoft 365 tenant. However, if some licenses were assigned to the wrong users, you can use the Reset license count option to unassign all licenses and reassign them to other users.

To restart the assignment of licenses, open the CodeTwo Admin Panel. On the Dashboard or Tenants tab, click the Manage tenant () button next to the name of your tenant. On the Subscription page, go to the Signature licenses tab or the Autoresponder licenses tab, depending on which type of licenses you want to reset. Click Reset license count (see Fig. 3.) and the program will begin to count signature or autoresponder licenses from zero.

If you want to change the number of licenses (for example, buy licenses for more users), you can do it from the Admin Panel by editing your subscription. On the Dashboard or Tenants tab, click the Manage tenant () button next to the name of your Microsoft 365 (Office 365) tenant. To change the number of licenses, click Edit subscription, as shown in Fig. 4.

The subscription renews automatically, and the renewal process starts 12 hours before the end of your current subscription period. You cannot make any changes to the subscription (add/remove licenses or cancel the subscription) when the renewal process is under way.

Modify the number of licenses, and the program will show an updated total price for your subscription period. Click Next to review the modified subscription order. You can check how many licenses will be added/removed, the amount to be paid for the new licenses, and verify your billing information (Fig. 5.). To finish, click Pay now (if you added licenses) or Change subscription (if you removed licenses from your current license pool).

Next, go to the Dashboard or Tenants tab, click Manage tenant () next to the name of your Microsoft 365 tenant, and click Edit subscription (as shown in Fig. 4.). In the Details step of the wizard that opens, choose the card you just added from the Payment method drop-down list. Then proceed to the Preview page and click Change subscription.

To cancel a subscription for a tenant, open the Admin Panel's Dashboard or Tenants tab, click the Manage tenant () button next to the name of your tenant and select Subscription from the left menu. This will open the subscription management page (see Fig. 7.). You can also access this page from the signature management app via the user icon in the upper-right corner (you might need to sign in with your CodeTwo Admin Panel account to proceed with the cancelation). Click Cancel subscription to terminate your subscription plan. 2ff7e9595c
